Hello there!
Thanks for visiting my donation page. Writing & recording music has been an evolving journey for me these last 15 years of my life. I’ve always done it DIY at home, honestly mostly because of the cost of recording in studio, however in the process I’ve learned that I actually really enjoy being the person “pushing all the buttons” & making the creative decisions that I make. I find that when I’m producing myself it really ends up sounding more “like me”. That doesn’t mean that I don’t also enjoy experimenting with other producers & musicians though.
Although the process is DIY, I have come to find that it can still be expensive to make an album. Whether it's buying new gear to record at home, getting video or artwork for content, paying a mixing/mastering engineer, or printing vinyl, it adds up.
As an independent artist I am forced to come up with all the funds but also to do all the work myself if I don’t have the money. Which honestly sometimes can be a heavy workload! If you’re interested in becoming a patron of the arts & investing in me & the work I’ll be creating this upcoming season, I'd be honored if you made a one-time or recurring donation
Here’s an approximation breakdown of typical costs:
Mixing: $4k -$6k
Mastering: $2k
Album Artwork & Design: $3k
Vinyl Production: $3k
CD Production: $1k
Hiring Musicians: $4k
